As the Competency-Based Curriculum get rolled ,it’s unclear whether the Junior Secondary students will be domiciled in Secondary Schools or Primary section.
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC ) has set the following qualifications for the teachers who will teach the Junior Secondary students.
Interested teachers who wants to apply should visit the Teachers Service Commission online portal ( TSC online)
Requirements
1. Have a P1 Certificate.
2.Have a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and certification in at least two subjects.
3.A C+ mean average in the KCSE is required.
4.A must a TSC teacher.
5.Primary school teachers with the following qualifications will qualify to teach Junior secondary
The following teachers with the following qualifications can be admitted to teach in Junior secondary;
1.Diploma and Degrees in special Needs Education.
2.Degree in Early Childhood Development Education.
3.Diploma in Education (Primary option)
4.Diploma in Education, secondary option.
5.Diploma in Education, Secondary option.
6.Degree in Education (Secondary option) but lacking C+ at KCSE or C+ in teaching subjects
