Teachers to renew professional certificates after Paying Ksh. 6000 and undertaking a training .
All public school teachers in Kenya will renew their professional Certificates after every five years .
According to the new policies formulated, teachers will undergo a module training called in-service which will last for 5 years and upon completion the teachers will get their certificates renewed.
Kenyatta University,Mount Kenya University,Riara and Kenya Education Management will be offering the trainings .
According to TSC ,the four training institutions have been contracted on a long term agreement with an option of renewal in future.
“These is the only way teachers will be allowed to practice in any school and will be used to award promotions to the teachers” Dr Macharia said.
According to Macharia, TSC will be borrowing a leave from professional courses such as Medicine and law ,whereby those who are engaged renew their certificates after a given duration
