The Ministry of Education announced strict term dates for the academic year 2022-2023. The dates covers both pre-primary, primary and Secondary schools. The Academic years were affected due to Corona pandemic which affected learning programmes across the country.
The schools resumes on 3rd January 2022 after the festive season. It will be the last term which will end on 4th march 2022, the only has 9 weeks . It’s the shortest term since Examinations will start then. It therefore means schools will break for a long holiday of about 7 weeks to allow for KCPE and KCSE.
It therefore means KCPE Examination will start on 7th march 2022 and end 10th march 2022.
KCSE will start on 11th march 2022 and end on 1st April 2022

New Academic year 2022
The new Academic year will start after the completion of both KCPE and KCSE .
The new academic year will begin on 25/4/2022 and end on 25/11/2022.
First term will commence on 25/4/2022 and end 1/7/2022 and then break for a one week holiday from 2/7/2022 to 10th /7/2022.
The second term will start on 11/7/2022 to 16/9/2022.There will be a half term break from 11/8/2022 to 14/8/2022.
On 17/9/2022 schools will break for a 2 weeks holiday.
The third term will start on 26/9/2022 and will close on 25/11/2022.
The schools will then break to allow KCPE and KCSE to start from 28/11/2022 to 1/12/2022 for KCPE. KCSE will start on 1/12/2022 to 23/11/2022. Then marking will start on 2/1/2023 to 20/1/2023.
