Safaricom Makes a Major Announcement.
Safaricom has announced Bonga points expiry dates.
Bonga points that have accrued are now set to have a validity period to enable customers redeem the points.
Normally customers earn 1 bonga points on every 10 Bob spent on the Safaricom network.
It therefore means the popular telecommunication operator Safaricom has set an expiry date of Bonga points on its customers loyalty scheme that will see the subscribers earn points for using its network.
In an earlier communication, Safaricom had set terms and conditions to be announced later this month, the operator says Bonga points older than three years ( December 2019) will expire on January 1, 2023 and will be unavailable for redemption.
The Safaricom operator is defended this decision since it’s aimed at encouraging Bonga points redemption.
The points can be redeemed for rewards such as talk- time (minutes) , data bundles and Sms.
The move to void idle Bonga points aimed at reducing the telecom’ s liability from the loyalty program to customers which is presently estimated at Ksh. 4.5billion.
