Kuccps has opened its portal and the students who did there exams will be choosing a course to join as per the requirements of Kuccps .
One of the most liked courses is Bachelors of Education Arts. The requirements are as follows;
1.The students must have scored a minimum entry to University that’s C+ plus.
2.The student must score C plain in English .
3.The student must score a C+ plus and above in the teaching subjects that fall under categories of specialization.
4.The student should score a D+ plus in Mathematics.
TSC proposal which has not yet been approved
TSC has written to KUCCPS with the following key proposal to the Bachelor of Education Degree.
1. The course shall take 5and half years.
-the first 4 years a teacher trainee shall cover content in his/her area of specialization
– 5th year teacher trainee shall take professional course.
– Teaching practice shall be for two terms (6 months)- This will take place after the 5th year.
2. A student wishing to pursue a degree must have the following minimum qualification according to TSC.
A. B- In the teaching subjects at KCSE
B. C plain in English and mathematics.
Even though this are proposals awaiting approval by Universities, those of us who are parents or/and charged with the responsibility of guiding our Sons’ and Daughters’ career choices should take caution especially on the minimum entry requirements. As this shall go along way to avoid avoid frustration upon graduation and at the point of seeking employment.
