President William Ruto’ 7 New Promises During Labour day Celebrations
President Ruto announced that they are committed to delivering radical transformation that will ensure that workers receive significant and sustainable increase in the return to their labour. We will also enhance their social protection to further empower them for our socio-economic growth, During the 58th Labour Day Celebration, Uhuru Gardens, Nairobi City County. Ruto confirmed Deputy President H.E. Rigathi Gachagua, EGH, Prime Cabinet Secretary Hon Musalia W Mudavadi, Senate Speaker Amason Kingi, Cabinet Secretaries, Nairobi Governor Sakaja Johnson, MPs, union officials led by COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli among other leaders, were present.
President William Ruto’ 7 New promises today during Labour day include:
1: Sign ten bilateral agreements in the next couple of months in a bid to create foreign employment opportunities for our youth
2: Low cadre citizens to contribute Sh300 instead of Sh500 towards NHIF starting July
3: Recruit 100,000 community health promoters
4: Build 200,000 houses around the country every year.
5: Ensure digital hubs in every ward in the country so that they can tap into the digital economy and move young people in their millions into digital jobs
6: Small scale traders to access between Sh10,000 to Sh200,000 from Hustler Fund starting next month.
7: Ksh.3B to complete markets in every constituency in the country so that every farmer can get their products directly to the market and eliminate middlemen, cartels and brokers
The President also gave a warning shot to Azimio leaders planning to protest on Tuesday 2nd May 2023 .
The President said that he is the commander in chief and will go extra mile to defend the lives and property of the people of Kenya.
