Kuppet Leadership Demand Speed Investigations unto the Death of the Principal.
Kuppet Leadership has demanded a Speed investigations unto the death of Lydia Onyoni ,the principal of Our Lady of Mercy Rangenyo Girls High in West Mugirango, Nyamira County .
Madam Lydia Onyoni died in unclear circumstances at Oasis Hospital in Kisii on Monday ,October 10.
On Tuesday the Kuppet Nyamira Leadership led by the Executive Secretary, Lewis Nyakweba demanded that a post mortem be done on the body so as it can be established what really killed madam Principal.
In a press release after the post mortem ,the Executive Secretary revealed that the preliminary reports established several physical injuries that might have led to her death. Their were multiple injuries in the head as a result of being hit by a blunt object.
Due to the prevailing circumstances of the death of the Principal, the Kuppet Leadership Nyamira branch booked an appointment to the office of the County Commissioner . The Leadership were on a fact finding mission of pushing the security agencies to fast track the investigations into the death of the Principal.
It was regrettable that the County Commission was unavailable to answer to some of their demands.
Later they addressed the media and demanded Speedy investigations failure to that then the membership will use other methods of addressing their grievances including riots.
“The Leadership asked how safe are they when a Principal can be killed in a school compound ???” Posed the Vice Chairman, Festus Segera.
Her father in law ,George Ongori also echoed the same sentiments and requested the police to expedite the process of investigations and bring to book the culprits.
Madam Lydia Onyoni has been credited for her efforts of improving the school to high academic performance.
