The Nyamira County Governor Amos Nyaribo has finally spoke about the recent audit exercise that was carried out to mob the irregularly promoted county employees.
In what he termed as a fair and transparent exercise that was carried out by a team appointed by his office led by the Human Resource manager Geoffrey Kiriago.
The report was submitted to the county Public Service Board for analysing and validation of the data. The Board is the one mandated for reviewing of various promotions and redesignation of county employees.
The board was therefore mandated to implement the report as per recommendations. “The affected members will be informed formally andĀ those affected can make there appeals through the County public service Board for arbitration and decision making” the Governor noted in today’s press.
Some of the glaring cases of irregular promotions that were noted include;
Case number one ,an officer who was promoted every year since 2016. The officer moved from job group “K”in March 2016 to iob group “L “in August 2017 to group N in october 2018 and then job group P in March, 2019
In another case ,an officer was promoted every year since 2016. The officer moved from group K in march 2016 to group L in october 2017 to group N in January 2018 then group P in November 2018.
Similarly, in another case an officer was promoted since 2016. The officer was moved from job group J in March 2016 ,joined job group K to job group L in November 2017,went to job group M in july 2018 then job group N in july 2020.
In another case an officer was employed in job group H in April 2017 and promoted straight to job group M in October 2020 jumping job group J ,K and L.
Also five officers were promoted to non existing positions of Directors in job group R within the same Departmental Directorate, while others were also promoted to non existing position of Directors job group S which is reserved for Chief Officers .
The Governor hasĀ advised the officers who were affected by the exercise to appeal through the County Public Service Board for redress . The Governor noted that if a vacancy will be created as a result of the exercise then the vacancies will be advertised internally for fair competition.
