    Kenya is entering into a political campaign season and aspirant are doing their best to capture and recapture political seats that’s MCA at ward level,Member of Parliament at Constituency level,Women representative,Senators ,Governors and President.

    Tips for Campaign Strategy 

    Politicians vieing various posts should build relationships,figure out their campaigns based on what they hear and so on .

    The upcoming elections should entail assembling various teams and figure out various campaign strategy as earlier possible.

    Many campaign elements like donations,number of campaign team members at different levels, voter contacts etc will benefit from having a longer lead time.

    Aspirants  can win due to the following reasons ;

    1.personality– some candidates can win due the charismatic character in them.

    2. Party popularity -Some candidates are will get a soft landing due to the popularity of the political party in it’s strongholds counties,Constituencies and wards.

    3. Projects-Some leaders will sail through due to their development track record.

    Some of the elements of a campaign plan include;

    1.Set goals ;Define specific objectives as these will be the foundation upon which the whole campaign will be based .

    2.Research-put facts together,gather data ,identify problems,strengths and weaknesses,identify allies and competitors and analyse every data.

    3. Identify targets;Map out the different areas ,personalities(opinion leaders and shapers),various interest groups .

    4.Publicity -Develop a strategy to reach out to different electoral areas and those electorates who are far through print media ,broadcast,digital and social media.

    5.Financial support-List the resources needed such as campaign materials then develop a fundraising strategy.

    6. Schedule -Establish a timetable for starting and completing every action ;identify priorities.

    7.Assign responsibility to various teams-Have a strong teams with various responsibilities. One can have a big support base but if it’s not focused ,it is useless and could sometimes become destructive. List roles and responsibilities and task them accordingly.

    8.Budget -Put a tag price on every item and action.A budget will determine the type of campaign you are going to mount. The bigger and intense a campaign is ,the higher the budget required will be.
